Across Georgia, electric school buses are giving children clean, safe, healthy rides to school. These buses protect passengers from harmful diesel exhaust, which causes asthma, stunts lung growth, contributes to cognitive and learning issues, and is known to cause cancer. Electric buses also save school districts money on fuel costs, and because many are manufactured right here in Georgia, they support our local economy.
Despite their popularity with school districts and their proven benefits to children's health, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has frozen funding for the Clean School Bus Program. Over $2.3 billion in funds that were authorized under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal have been frozen since January 2025. Without these funds, many school districts cannot transition their fleets from diesel to electric.
We need your help to release these funds. Contact your representatives today and let them know that your kids deserve the clean, healthy air that zero-emissions buses provide.
